Olde North Pancake House To Close After More Than 57 Years

"We have been a leader in the breakfast community for so many years it's very hard to say goodbye​," Olde North wrote in a Facebook post.

WEST CHICAGO, IL — Beloved for its breakfast options and Friday night fish fries, The Olde North Pancake House announced on Facebook Monday that it will close after more than 57 years in the community.

The restaurant has been run by the same family for the past 47 years.

"We have been a leader in the breakfast community for so many years it’s very hard to say goodbye," Olde North owners wrote in the post. They added, "We want to thank all of our customers that have visited us over those 47 years. It’s been our pleasure to serve and get to know you on a personal level as well."

Olde North did not disclose the reason for the closure, but wrote that it was unavoidable. They wrote, "After 47 years we have done all that we can to keep this from happening."

Olde North Pancake House opened in 1963 in a building at 27W751 North Avenue that was designed to look like the famous Old North Church in Boston, according to the restaurant's website. The restaurant was purchased by Alma Horan in 1973. Horan's family has run the restaurant since.
