'Porch Pirates' Hit 2 Homes In Wheaton: Cops

In the past week, Wheaton police responded to two reports of packages that were stolen from residents' porches.

WHEATON, IL — Wheaton police are investigating a pair of package thefts that took place at two homes throughout the city in the past week. These types of package thefts usually involve thieves, also known as "porch pirates," who steal packages that were recently delivered to the porch or front step of a home.

2200 block of Blacksmith Drive

A package was stolen from the front porch of a home in the 2200 block of Blacksmith Drive on Jan. 28 around 3:45 p.m.

1500 block of College Avenue

An unknown person or persons stole a package from the front porch of a home in the 1500 block of College Avenue. The incident took place on Jan. 29 at approximately 5 p.m.
