WHEATON, IL -- The Wheaton Mariano's store now offers an additional dining option for shoppers. Pork & Mindy's, which serves up grab-and-go eats and a menu of signature sandwiches, sides, and build-you-own bowls, hosted its grand opening Friday afternoon.

Helmed by Chef Jeff Mauro from Food Network's "The Kitchen," Pork & Mindy's uses meat from "humanely raised" animals to create inventive barbecue eats. Some of their popular items include bacon-wrapped spare ribs, pork-topped tater tots, and "sangwiches" made with mulberry-smoked pulled chicken served atop a vanilla bourbon bun.

When you're there, be sure to try the "pig candy bacon," a salty-sweet mix of slowly-smoked bacon and caramelized brown sugar.

Pork & Mindy's may be a meat-lover's paradise, but there are few options for vegetarians, including buffalo tater tots and a buffalo cauliflower "sangwich."

The Wheaton Pork & Mindy's is one of 28 locations that the Bucktown-based chain plans to open inside of Mariano's stores in 2019.
