Pumpkin Fest Opens at Cosley Zoo on Oct. 1

Fall festivities get underway soon at Cosley Zoo in Wheaton.

Cosley Zoo’s Pumpkin Fest will open for the season on Oct. 1.

There will be pumpkins, gourds, bales of straw, apples and other seasonal produce available in the Pumpkin Patch in the front lawn at the zoo, 1356 N. Gary Ave. in Wheaton. The zoo will also have a straw pyramid and a cornstalk tunnel for families to check out.

Tami Romejko, Cosley Zoo’s Education and Guest Experiences Supervisor, said the decision to make a tunnel, rather than a maze, is “more friendly for kids 6 and under because they won’t get lost or scared.” Rides will be available seven days a week (additional fee required). Various nature discovery stations will be accessible every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
