Education: 4 years of college in Czechoslovakia in Economic statistics
Occupation: I was stay at home mom for the vast majority of years
Why are you running?
I am running because I have vast experience in the district as a parent, I am very familiar with socialism and I am very opposed to Common Core that shares many aspects of socialism that I escaped 34 years ago.
Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office: I am currently republican precinct committee woman
Campaign Website: http://www.renatasliva.com/
What do you hope to accomplish in office?
I hope to bring positive change to the district. We know that in November 2016 Common Core was rejected by American people right there with Obamacare. Both are socialist experiments that will never work. I came to America for freedom and that is what I will work for: freedom of speech and freedom of information for all: teachers, students, public. Right now, that freedom is almost nonexistent in public education.
How would you hold local government employees accountable?
Transparency and freedom of information and will do the job.We cannot afford any longer to turn a blind eye to the destruction the socialist ideology (that was accelerated by Common Core and government directives) is doing to our kids. Just look at the high numbers of addictions (not only drug), look at the universities. Vast majority of those kids went through public education system.
Explain your attitudes toward fiscal policy, government spending and how taxpayer dollars should be handled by your office (or board)?
One of the things my kids were taught at schools was to say NO to drugs. We need to learn how to say NO to runaway government. We adopted Common Core and did not know what the standards were, what the curriculum would have to be based on the standards. And it was obvious that Springfield is broke and we may not get the state funding. Where is the logic in this!? So what we have now is lousy unfunded curriculum full of socialist ideology. My position is first of all we need to stop implementing Common Core.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
I would say it is my experience of growing up in a socialist state and then living in America for 33 years that gives me a unique insight on the problems we have as a district. There are issues to be solved, but it is important to understand the root of those problems. Once we do that many problems will be solved.
What else would you like voters to know about you and your positions?
My main position is that public schools should be for all because not everybody can afford to pay for private schools or can homeschool. It must not be a place for indoctrination of kids with socialist ideology.By casting a vote for Renata Sliva you really do not vote for me but for my pro-American platform.
