Service Animals To Join Sensory Playground's July Play Date
The play dates include visits from service dogs and a walk-in doctor's office for your stuffed animals.
WHEATON, IL —The Wheaton Park District's Sensory Garden Playground is giving parents of children with sensory sensitivity an opportunity to explore different adventures with monthly play dates throughout summer. The play dates include such fun activities as face painting, visits with service dogs, and a walk-in clinic for stuffed animals.
On July 20 from 10 a.m. to noon, representatives from Canine Companions for Independence will be at the playground to introduce kids to their assistance dogs with a training demonstration. The non-profit is known globally for providing more than 6,000 free assistance dogs throughout the world.
On August 17, DuPage County Historical Museum will be on hand with old-fashioned toys that give kids an opportunity to learn and play together. Kids who attend the play dates can take home goodie bags (while supplies last) at each Sensory Playground Play Day.
