WINFIELD, IL — Why did the pig cross the road? Winfield residents weren't exactly sure when they spotted a pot-bellied pig on the loose near the intersection of Childs and East streets early Friday.

The pig, a family pet named Gus Gus, apparently "decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood," Gus Gus' owner wrote on Facebook. She added that a police officer found Gus Gus and escorted him back to his house.

The comments in the thread beneath the original post were priceless, through they might have hurt Gus Gus's feelings if he read them.
