Townhome Fire Displaces Wheaton Residents

WHEATON, IL — A Wheaton family was displaced from their townhome Monday night after a fire broke out in the 1500 block of Raven Hill. Fire officials say the residents found the fire and alerted the Wheaton Fire Department before getting out of the home safely.

Fire crews got to the scene around 7 p.m. to find heavy fire extending from the back of the home to the attic. It took about 20 minutes to put out the flames, according to a news release.

The townhome sustained heavy damage and was deemed uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials do not believe there is cause for suspicion.
