Trees Down in DuPage County After Storm Blows Through

DuPage County Sheriff's Police said trees were down in some areas of the county, but that was the extent of the damage Tuesday night.

The risk of wind damage in DuPage County remained overnight Thursday into Friday, according to the National Weather Service. But, by just after 11 p.m. Thursday night, the local damage included down trees, but not downed power lines, a DuPage County Sheriff’s Police spokesperson said.

The National Weather service said winds could still pick up in the area through Friday with gusts as strong as 45 miles per hour.

A spokesman at the DuPage County Sheriff’s Police said earlier in the evening, the department had received reports of downed trees, but he was not sure where in the county the damage had occurred. No other wind damage had been reported.

DuPage County was not on the path of the storm that spawned the tornado that killed a woman in Fairdale. The storm that spawned that tornado moved across multiple counties, touching down and causing damage sporadically, the Weather Service said.
