Updates Continue At Wheaton's Memorial Park
The updates include a new bandshell with removable stadium-style seating, in addition to new landscaping.

WHEATON, IL — The new coronavirus shutdown temporarily slowed down plans to revamp Wheaton's Memorial Park, but renovations are back in full swing, according to an update from the park district. District officials say the schedule was extended to allow for workers to continue while practicing social distancing.
The recent work includes a war memorial and the reinstallation of the park's doughboy statue. The park district writes that "the new location is more prominent and brings the previously dispersed memorials together in a unified setting."
Another addition is new landscaping on The Lion's Terrace, which is located on the south end of the Mary Lubko Center. The new landscaping includes flowering plants and evergreens that will "provide year-round interest," park district officials wrote.
