WHEATON, IL — Wheaton firefighters came to the rescue Tuesday when an Irish terrier named Maggie was stuck under a cement slab below the deck of a home. Maggie got stuck after she sped after a chipmunk "at top speed," according to a social media post from the City Wheaton.

Firefighters used small shovels and squeezed into an 18-inch space to wrench Maggie free. She emerged with no injuries and was reunited with her family, possibly for dog bones and a much-needed bath.

Wheaton firefighters thanked onlooking neighbors for their support during the rescue.
