Wheaton's New Digital Parking Payment System Takes Effect
The new commuter parking payment system started Oct 8.
WHEATON, IL — Commuters who travel to and park in Wheaton now have a new, more efficient way to pay for parking. On Tuesday, the city launched its new digital kiosk system, which allows commuters to pay for daily fee parking electronically or with cash at the kiosks or use the Passport Parking app to pay online.
The digital kiosks will replace the parking pay boxes that were in commuter lots. They also will replace some free-standing pay boxes at 12-hour parking spots, city officials said in a news release.
Commuters will need their license plate numbers in order to park using the digital kiosks or Passport Parking app. To use the Passport Parking app, users will have to pay an additional convenience fee of $.32 in addition to the $1.50 daily parking fee.
