11-Year-Old Girls Solicited For Sex By Man In Wilmette: Police

Prosecutors say a Mount Prospect man approached children outside St. Francis Xavier school to carry out a predatory criminal sexual assault.

WILMETTE, IL — Authorities said the same man who solicited two children for sex outside a Wilmette school also exposed his genitalia to a woman as she walked her dog.

Oskar Bosak, 21, of Mount Prospect, was arrested at the Wilmette Police Department on July 7 after he was identified as the motorist who showed his penis to a 29-year-old woman around May 25 in the 1300 block of Greenwood Avenue and around 2:50 p.m. on June 22 to two 11-year-old girls outside St. Francis Xavier School at 808 Linden Ave., according to police and prosecutors.

Bosak was charged one misdemeanor count of public indecency stemming from the earlier of the two incidents and two counts — one for each of the girls — of indecent solicitation of a child with the intent to carry out a predatory criminal sexual assault, a class 1 felony punishable by anything from probation to 15 years in prison.

Assistant State's Attorney Andreana Turano said in the first incident, Bosak circled back to drive alongside the woman while masturbating, raised up his hip and showed her his penis.

"He 'popped his hip up,' in his words, to expose himself to the victim," Turano said.

In the second incident, the two 11-year-old girls were eating lunch on a lawn outside the Catholic school when Bosak pulled up in the same car, she said. The girls spotted him fondling himself and started to gather their things to leave but he circled back to stop in front of them.

"This time, the vehicle slowed down in front of both victims, [Bosak] continued to stroke his penis, and at this time offered the [girls] $100 in exchange for oral sex," Turano said. "To state his words, he indicated 'Do you like what you see? Would you like to suck me off?'"

"Ew. No," one of the girls responded before Bosak drove away, according to the prosecutor.

Turano said Wilmette police detectives reviewed surveillance footage from St. Francis Xavier and spotted Bosak's distinctive blue Nissan sedan, which had a sticker and a notably loud muffler. The car also showed up on nearby home security cameras.

After investigators came up with a description of the suspect's car, a Wilmette police sergeant conducting surveillance noticed it driving around the village and pulled it over.

Initially, the officer gave Bosak a warning and got his identity. Investigators later learned that he was the registered owner of the car and confirmed his identity with the dog-walker.

According to prosecutors, Bosak signed a written confession admitting to exposing himself after waiving his constitutional rights against self-incrimination. He is due back in court to be indicted on July 27.

Mike Krejci, Bosak's private defense attorney, said his client lived with his parents and two minor siblings. He attends Harper College and works construction, according to his lawyer.

Wearing a white t-shirt and glasses, Bosak appeared in court Friday in Skokie via videoconferencing before Cook County Associate Judge Anthony Calabrese, who ordered him held in lieu of the $25,000 cash portion of his bond.

Calabrese said he took into account that it was Bosak's first arrest and noted that chief judge's pretrial division had recommended he be released with no conditions ahead of trial.

"I am also considering the extraordinary nature of the allegations against him, particularly the tender age of the two victims," Calabrese said. Bosak's alleged conduct is "extraordinary concerning," the judge said, explaining why he decided against a personal recognizance bond.

"I don't believe that an I-bond is an appropriate bond to be set on an individual who is conducting himself in a fashion such as this and allegedly victimizing children of this age," the judge said.
