Burglar Locked Himself In Starbucks Women's Room: Police
A man on parole for a past burglary conviction was caught sneaking into a Wilmette Starbucks and stealing $17 worth of snacks, police said.

WILMETTE, IL — A parolee who snuck into a closed coffeehouse, hid in a women's bathroom and proceeded to pilfer snacks was taken into custody Tuesday, police said.
Luis Cruz, 37, of the 4100 block of North Clarendon Avenue, Chicago, faces felony burglary charges following an incident at the Starbucks, 3232 Lake Ave., according to Wilmette police.
A security company connected police to report that someone had set off a motion alarm inside the store shortly after midnight, police said. Officers found Cruz leaving the Starbucks as they arrived, taking him into custody without incident.

Police said Cruz took advantage of a delivery, sneaking into the store and locking himself in the ladies restroom.
Once the deliver driver had departed, Cruz emerged from the women's room, ate a breakfast sandwich and four juice boxes with a total combined value of about $17, according to police.

Cruz was on parole for a prior burglary conviction at the time of his arrest, police said.
