FBI Seeks Suspects In Wilmette Bank Robbery

Two men robbed the Byline Bank branch on Lake Avenue and fled in a lime green Dodge Challenger, according to the FBI.

WILMETTE, IL — Two bank robbers struck the Byline Bank Monday afternoon at Westlake Plaza in Wilmette.

The FBI was called to the bank at 3245 Lake Ave. shortly before 2:45 p.m. for a report of a robbery that had just occurred.

The two robbers, who appeared to be in their mid-20s, passed a note implying they had a gun to bank staff in an apparent non-takeover robbery before fleeing in a lime green-colored Dodge Challenger, according to an FBI spokesperson.

Illinois State Police reported around 5 p.m. that the agency was not actively involved in a pursuit.

Monday's reported bank robbery comes 12 days after a robbery was reported at a Fifth Third Bank branch on Skokie Boulevard in Northbrook.
