Gigi's Cupcakes Will Open October 28 in Westlake Plaza

Gigi’s Cupcakes, a southern favorite best known for its “Gig’s swirl,” will open its first Chicagoland location later this month in Wilmette.

Gigi’s will offer more than 300 rotating cupcake flavors at its location at 3217 Lake Avenue in Westlake Plaza when it opens for the first time at 8 a.m. on October 28. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy favorite flavors such as Scarlett’s Red Velvet, Wedding Cake, Kentucky Bourbon Pie, Midnight Magic, and other seasonal recipes.

“Wilmette is the perfect city for Gigi’s Cupcakes to make its Chicagoland debut. We look forward to serving North Shore guests, as well as those from the city and surrounding suburbs,” said Gigi Butler, founder of Gigi’s Cupcakes. “Whether a loyal fan or new customer, everyone who tries our treats will be able to taste our love for baking in every bite.”

Christine Yaccino, an avid baker, will be the local owner of the Gigi’s in Wilmette.

“We are thrilled to open Illinois’ first Gigi’s Cupcakes bakery and couldn’t be happier to do so in our hometown,”she said. “After visiting and falling in love with Gigi’s while in Florida, my husband and I knew that we had to open a bakery in Chicago to serve Gigi’s wide variety of freshly baked breakfast and dessert items.”

Gigi’s Cupcakes of Wilmette is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. They accept specialty orders by phone at (847) 800-4084.
