Inbound Edens Expressway Ramp To Route 41 To Close For 10 Days
The closure is needed to repair a bridge deck as part of an improvement project to 1.9 miles of Skokie Highway, according to IDOT.

WILMETTE, IL — The inbound exit ramp from the Edens Expressway to Skokie Boulevard is scheduled to close for about 10 days, starting Monday. The closure is needed to repair the bridge deck on the ramp, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The planned repairs are part of a series of improvements to a 1.9-mile stretch of the Skokie Highway, or Route 41, between the exit ramp to just north of Old Orchard Road, IDOT announced.
In addition to fixing the bridge deck, the project is set to consist of patching and resurfacing the road, improving drainage, replacing deteriorated curbs and adding new sidewalk ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, according to IDOT. Department officials said last month they expect it to be complete in November.

Drivers in the area were asked to expect delays, pay close attention to flaggers and signage in the work zone and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
Through traffic will be directed to Dempster Street, or Route 58, during the ramp closure, according to IDOT. The closure is scheduled to end around May 21, if weather permits.
