Make-A-Wish Dream For Wilmette Boy is Military Boot Camp
Jack McDonagh told the Wilmette Life it was an easy choice.

Jack McDonagh, a 14-year-old Wilmette boy who has underwent treatment for liver cancer for the last decade, had an inspiring choice when his family decided to take up the Make-a-Wish Foundation on an offer to grant him a wish.
McDonagh, known to his family as Jack IV, wanted to go to military boot camp.
The Wilmette Life tells the story of how Jack IV and his family were initially contacted by the organization 10 years ago with a wish offer, but would not accept because it felt like they were admitting defeat. But when Jack IV’s mother, Karen, who provided her son with one of his transplants, became assured a number of children who are granted wishes survive they decided to take part.

For Jack, the wish was an easy choice. He has always loved the military.
From the Wilmette Life: “In the mechanics shop, he helped take apart an MRAP, or Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected, engine. Over at the Explosives Ordnance Division, Jack got to guide through an obstacle course one of the robots that seeks out and disarms IEDs, or Improvised Explosive Devices.”
