The workshop where violins, violas, cellos and basses are hand-crafted for the Harris Lee & Co. is patterned after shops of the 17th and 18th centuries. The art of violin making lives on in their Chicago location at 410 S. Michigan Avenue. They also have a Wilmette location at 1138 Central Avenue.
William "Bill" Harris gave Patch a tour of his Wilmette location where they sell and restore instruments from student-level to professional to rare antiques. Prices range from $800 to $10,000 - $20,000 and up. They also sell bows, cases and music.
