EVANSTON, IL — Just a month after being diagnosed with brian cancer, longtime Chicago newspaper editor Kevin Moore died April 11 at the age of 71, his wife told the Chicago Tribune. Moore graduated from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism in 1968 and enlisted in the Army. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 and was awarded a Purple Heart. Following brief stints working for newspapers in Florida and St. Louis, Moore joined the Sun-Times in 1974 and moved to Wilmette the following year, according to a Chicago Tribune obituary.
