Passenger Urinates On Train Operator On CTA Purple Line: Police

A 39-year-old was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct after police found him unconscious in a wet area of the train.

WILMETTE, IL — Police said a CTA rider who urinated on a train operator last month on the Purple Line faces charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

Mark Wilson, 39, of the 6000 block of South Harper Avenue, was arrested around 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 26 after officers were dispatched to the Linden CTA station, police said.

The operator, a 33-year-old Evanston man, told police Wilson tried to open up the door to the control cabin, according to a police report.

"I have to piss," Wilson told the operator, who eventually opened the door. According to the officer's report, the operator told police he explained Wilson would not be able to relieve himself in his cabin and recommended he leave the train.

Several passengers tried to intervene, police were told, as people told Wilson to step off the train. Wilson refused.

"I don't give a s---," Wilson said. He then exposed himself and began urinating on the operator and the floor of the train car, according to the report.

The passengers exited the train and the operator called police.

Officers reported they were unable to get Wilson to wake up when they arrived.

According to the report, Wilson was laying on his back across two seats in the rear of the train. Police said the "entire floor area of that area of the train was wet."

Police called Wilmette Fire Department paramedics, who took Wilson to Evanston Hospital due to his "high intoxication level," police said.

The operator said he wished to press charges. Wilson was issued two misdemeanor complaints is due in court Feb. 19.
