Police arrest woman for stealing sunglasses from Carson's

Man also arrested for DUI after police discover his car parked in the Sheridan Road center lane.

Retail Theft

Sara Enochian, 68, was arrested July 11 for taking a pair of sunglasses from Carson’s in Wilmette, according to Wilmette Police reports. Responding to a call, police found the store’s loss prevention department holding Enochian claiming she took a pair of sunglasses, removed the tag and left the store. She admitted her actions.

DUI

Alfonso Magana-Martinez, 43, of Chicago was arrested for driving under the influence July 11 in the 1000 block of Sheridan Road, according to Wilmette Police Reports. Police saw Magana-Martinez in a vehicle sitting in the center lane of the road with the flashers on. Police noticed a strong odor of alcohol. He failed a field sobriety test.

Fraud

Two women attempted to purchase merchandise with what turned out to be fraudulent Visa gift cards at the CVS Pharmacy at 1515 Sheridan Road, according to Wilmette Police reports. The cards were not accepted and the women left the store after the unsuccessful attempts.
