Ship Sails for Wilmette Park District Bid on Yacht Club
The Wilmette Park Board voted 5-2 against bidding on the Sheridan Shore Yacht Club at a special meeting Monday night.

Citing concerns related to cost, the physical condition of the building and park district priorities, the Wilmette Park Board decided not to make a bid on the Sheridan Shore Yacht Club property, which is owned by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD), reported the Daily North Shore.
Earlier this month, the MWRD announced it was seeking bids on a 36-year lease with a minimum annual rent of $138,500. Public bidding ends Jan. 26.
The yacht club building, located at 20 Harbor Dr., was estimated by Park District Executive Director Steve Wilson to cost about $1 million to renovate, according to the story.
