John and Ted Nash, who make up The Nash Team of Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, are third-generation Realtors who grew up in Wilmette, where their father owned a real estate office and sold homes for over 50 years.

The team represents people looking to buy or sell a home, and they are considered North Shore experts when it comes to the real estate market, having sold over 1,000 homes in the area.

The Nash Team: We have each been selling North Shore homes for 27 years.

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?

The Nash Team: The fact that our dad owned a Wilmette real estate office was a major influence. While we were growing up, we saw how Dad helped people who needed to buy or sell a home, and we were attracted to it. Ted went straight from college into selling real estate. John worked as an attorney for a few years; but eventually the attraction to real estate was too strong, and so he changed careers. We started our real estate careers working with our dad until he retired in 1996.

Patch: If you had to sum up your business mission to a stranger in five words, what would those words be?

The Nash Team: Helping home buyers and sellers.

Patch: What’s the biggest challenge or most difficult moment you’ve faced in your job?

The Nash Team: Getting through the Great Recession. The real estate business was particularly hard hit by it and sales were slow for several years, which was a challenge for us and our families. But we worked hard, persevered and came out stronger on the other side of it.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?

The Nash Team: Helping someone find a home that will bring them years of great memories and enjoyment. Likewise, helping someone successfully navigate the process of selling a home they have cherished for many years so they can move on to the next phase of their life.

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?

The Nash Team: We have a unique team of two agents who each have many years of home sale experience, and a lifetime of learning about the Wilmette community and the business of helping people buy and sell their treasured homes. In addition, while our experience goes back many years, we are also always looking forward to employing the newest and most successful technologies to help our clients sell their homes.

Patch: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given when it comes to success?

The Nash Team: If you give your customers outstanding service, it will lead to referrals, repeat business and success.

Patch: Are there any new projects or endeavors you’re working on that you’re extra excited about?

The Nash Team: We are excited about our new association with Patch and how it will help us expose our clients' homes to more buyers and let more people know about our team and how we can help them. We are also finding new ways to expose our clients' properties to buyers in this time of social distancing by utilizing live virtual tours and 3D photography.

Patch: How can Patch readers learn more about your work and business?
