Wilmette Coronavirus Latest: 83 Confirmed Cases Reported

WILMETTE, IL—According to the Cook County Department of Public Health, there were 83 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Wilmette as of Friday. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office reports that two people have died in Wilmette as a result of COVID-19 since March 16.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reports that, as of Friday, there have been a total 39,658 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 1,795 deaths in the state, including 27,616 cases and 1,220 deaths in Cook County. That number includes 11,504 cases and 542 deaths in suburban Cook County, and 16,112 cases and 678 deaths in Chicago.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. JB Pritzker has ordered Illinois residents to stay at, with exceptions for essential needs or business activities. Gatherings of ten people or more are prohibited.
