Plunkett Elected Wilmette Village President: Unofficial Results

WILMETTE, IL — Senta Plunkett is set to succeed Bob Bielisnki as Wilmette Village President, while Kathy Dodd, Justin Sheperd and Kate Gjaja led the race for three open village board seats, according to unofficial election results.

Plunkett, a former assistant corporation counsel for the city of Chicago, served two terms as a village trustee after chairing the Historic Preservation Committee. She was endorsed by four former village presidents and nine former village trustees.

There were crowded races for park commissioner and library trustee. Six candidates sought three seats on the Wilmette Library Board, while eight candidates competed for three available seats on the Wilmette Park District Board.

Allison Frazier, Patrick Duffy and Kara Kosloskus led the race for there seats on the park district board, while Tracy Sommer, Mary Anne O'Keefe and Patricia Nealon held leads in the library board race.

In New Trier High School District 203, a slate of four candidates backed by a local school board caucus faced challenges from two independent candidates, one of whom also ran for library board.

The Caucus-backed Top 4 New Trier slate led a pair of independent challengers by margins greater than 1700 votes.

Note: Late-arriving mail ballot postmarked by election day can be counted up to two weeks after the final day of voting.
