After Allegedly Assaulting Player, Baseball Coach Resigns
The Wilmette youth baseball coach resigned immediately and no charges were filed by Winnetka police.

WINNETKA, IL — Parents and police are satisfied with the resolution of a May 31 incident at Hibbard Park in Winnetka when the coach of a youth baseball team allegedly physically assaulted one of his players, Pioneer Press reported. A representative of the Wilmette Baseball Association said that the coach immediately resigned following the incident, according to Wilmette Life.
Neither Winnetka Chief of Police Marc Hornstein or David Miller of the baseball association named the coach or disclosed the age or hometown of the boy involved. Hornstein said the department was contacted June 8 but declined to say if the player's parents had reported it. An investigation was closed June 14, he told Pioneer Press.
