The Advertising Club of New York presented the 2011 Advertising Person of the Year award to Lisa Cochrane, senior vice president of marketing for Allstate Insurance Company, during the club’s annual ‘Roast & Toast’ on Tuesday, June 14 at the Union League Club. The award recognizes individuals active in furthering industry standards, creative excellence, and responsibility in areas of social concern. The award is also knows as the Silver Medal Award and was established in 1959 by The American Advertising Federation.
Cochrane currently leads consumer communications for all business units of Allstate, including brand standards and guidelines, advertising, direct marketing and interactive communications, promotions, sponsorships, consumer public relations, collateral and creative services.
“Among many great advertising people I have known, Lisa stands out. She is smart, passionate, a creative thought leader and focused on excellence and results in a way few can match,” said Mark LaNeve, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales and Chief Marketing Officer, Allstate Insurance Company. “What Lisa has accomplished in her career, particularly over the past few years, in this competitive, cluttered insurance marketplace is remarkable.”

Under Lisa’s leadership and direction, Allstate’s advertising campaigns have won numerous industry awards, including from Cannes, 16 Effie awards including the Gold in 2011 in the ‘Sustained Success’ category and numerous ADDY awards. She was named Ad Woman of the Year by the Chicago Advertising Federation in 2008, and was recognized by Working Mother Magazine and Advertising Women of New York as a 2010 Working Mother of the Year.

"Lisa is one of the finest marketing leaders I have ever worked with in my career,” said Joseph V. Tripodi, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer for The Coca-Cola Company and former Chief Marketing Officer for Allstate. “Most importantly, Lisa is an outstanding and selfless individual who has left an indelible mark on Allstate, the advertising industry and all the people (and animals) that she has touched."
Proceeds from the event will go towards a scholarship earmarked in Lisa’s name. Lucas Piazza, a college student studying communications at the University of Rochester received the scholarship from Lisa during the event.
