
On Saturday, April 16th, the French School held its annual spring show at the Winnetka Woman’s Club. Students, ranging in age between 3 and 12, sang, danced, and put on plays for family and friends. Guests were delighted and impressed with the children’s ability to perform in French, a true testament to the school’s immersion program.
Preschoolers and kindergarteners amused proud parents with their joyful singing and animated dances. After its recent expansion into first grade, the spring show also featured the French School’s inaugural class of first graders who recited poetry for the public. Additionally, Take me out to the ball game, embracing the English part of the school’s elementary curriculum.
Students enrolled in the school’s Continuing Education program put on three classic plays: The Little Red Hen, The Three Little Pigs and Cinderella, demonstrating their mastery of the French language with charming portrayals of these beloved stories. The show closed with a graduation ceremony where kindergarten students were presented with berets and medals in acknowledgement of the completion of the French School’s three-year immersion program.
