Telephone Solicitors Impersonating Northfield Fire-Rescue Department Members

From the Village of Northfield:

Village Staff has been informed that there are individuals calling residents and representing themselves as members of the Northfield Fire-Rescue Department making "courtesy phone calls."  It appears they provide little to no information as to why they are calling, ask when the head of the household will be home and are very rude.

The Northfield Fire-Rescue Department wants to inform residents that they do not solicit for any reason at any time during the year.

The Northfield Fire-Rescue Association solicits donations once a year during the open house/pancake breakfast in October with formal letters to residents and return envelopes addressed to the Fire Station at 1800 Winnetka Road.

If you receive a phone call from anyone claiming to be part of the Northfield Fire-Rescue Department or Association do not give them any personal information, hang up and call the non-emergency police number 847-446-2131.
