Winnetka Village Council Meeting: The Winnetka Village Council will discuss the 2013 Preservation Awards and the stormwater utility implementation at their next meeting, which is set for Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall. More information — including an agenda — is available here

Reading on the Rocks: The Winnetka-Northfield Public Library hosts a bimonthly book club the first Wednesday of every other month for readers to gather for drinks, discussion and company. This month's selection is Where'd You Go, Bernadette? by Maria Semple. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Stormy's Tavern in Northfield. Ivy and Bean Author at the Book Stall: Annie Barrows, author of the beloved 'Ivy and Bean' series will be at the Book Stall in Winnetka on Tuesday Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m. to read from and discuss the latest book in the series.
