College Credits: Local Students Earn Degrees, Make Dean's Lists

These Glencoe, Northfield and Winnetka college students earned academic distinctions and degrees over the past semester.

WINNETKA, IL — Spring semester this year has been an unprecedented one for students and educators at all institutions of higher education. While many commencement ceremonies have been cancelled or moved online in recent weeks, local students have continued to earn academic distinctions and degrees. Winnetka-Glencoe Patch recognizes their accomplishments below.

Ryan Acri, of Winnetka, graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in enterprise leadership.

Abigail Andrews, of Winnetka, who is majoring in nursing at the University of Iowa, was named to the president's list, which requires a student earn a minimum 4.0 grade point average.

Madison Elizabeth Aron, of Winnetka, who is majoring in pre-business, was named to the dean's list at Clemson University for the spring semester, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Anders Aschkenase, of Glencoe, who is majoring in enterprise leadership, was named to the dean's list at the University of Iowa, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Ford Baker, of Winnetka, was one of a record 351 student athletes at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, to be named to the Tiger Pride Honor Roll, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.4.

Bari Bloom, of Glencoe, who is majoring in speech and hearing science, was named to the dean's list at the University of Iowa, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Jack Bufton, of Winnetka, who is majoring in marketing, was named to the president's list at the College of Charleston, which requires a minimum 3.8 grade point average.

Andrew Clark, of Northfield, who is majoring in management at Coast Carolina University, was one of over 1,100 students at the school named to its president's list.

Caroline Cobb, of Winnetka, who is majoring in creative writing at Emerson College in Boston, was named to the dean's list for spring semester, which requires a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

Valeria Colak, of Glencoe, who is majoring in business analytics and information systems, was named to the dean's list at the University of Iowa, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Sarah Cucco, of Northfield, was named to the president's list for the spring semester at Miami University in Ohio, which includes the top 3 percent of undergraduate students in each division.

Ellyn Cunningham, of Northfield, was named to the dean's list at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, for the spring semester, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Nicholas Curl, of Northfield, who is in the computer engineering program at Rochester Institute of Technology, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.4.

Emma Davis, of Glencoe, who is majoring in acting, was named to the Emerson College spring semester dean's list, which requires a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

Cameron De Loys, of Northfield, received a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Alabama.

Seth Deutsch, of Glencoe, was named to dean's list at Ohio University for the spring semester, which requires a minimum 3.5 grade point average.

Layne Dubose, of Glencoe, was named to the dean's list at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, which includes undergraduate students ranked in the top 20 percent of their academic divisions.

Alessandra Dutra, of Northfield, who is majoring in chemistry, was named to the dean's list at the University of Iowa, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Issabella Dutra, of Northfield, graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in psychology.

Gabe Eilert, of Winnetka, who is in the graphic design program at Rochester Institute of Technology, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.4.

Lainey Flanagan, of Winnetka, was named to the dean's list at Miami University in Ohio, which includes undergraduate students ranked in the top 20 percent of their academic divisions.

Thomas Harrison, of Glencoe, graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, with a bachelor's degree in mathematics.

Beatrice Harvey, of Winnetka, graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.

Brandon Hawley, of Winnetka, graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa.

Clare Healy, of Winnetka, was named to the president's list for the spring semester at Miami University in Ohio, which includes the top 3 percent of undergraduate students in each division.

Faith Jones, of Winnetka, graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor's degree in sociology.

Kiersten Joyce, of Winnetka, was named to the dean's list at Miami University in Ohio, which includes undergraduate students ranked in the top 20 percent of their academic divisions.

Natalie Kalter, of Winnetka, who is majoring in finance, was named to the dean's list at the University of Iowa, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Samuel Keehn, of Winnetka, graduated from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, with a bachelor's degree.

Alexis Vaselopulos, of Northfield, who is majoring in theatre arts, was named to the dean's list at the University of Iowa, which requires a grade point average of at least 3.5.

Heidi Weber-Howe, of Northfield, was named to the president's list for the spring semester at Miami University in Ohio, which includes the top 3 percent of undergraduate students in each division.

Thomas Wellington, of Winnetka, graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor's degree in finance.

Grace Zern, of Winnetka, was named to the dean's list at Miami University in Ohio, which includes undergraduate students ranked in the top 20 percent of their academic divisions.
