Construction To Begin On Winnetka Road Bridge Over Skokie River

NORTHFIELD, IL — Bridge reconstruction is due to begin Monday on Winnetka Road over the Skokie River, east of the Edens Expressway in Northfield, village officials announced.

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to keep one lane of the road open at all times and control traffic with temporary signals, which will alternate the direction of traffic flows, according to a Tuesday release.

Drivers in the area should expect delays, and village officials encouraged motorist to use alternative routes if possible. IDOT expects to complete the project in June.
