Free Streaming Movies And TV From Glencoe Public Library

Library patrons now have access to one of the largest online archives of critically acclaimed and educational content.

GLENCOE, IL — Whether you're looking for learning or entertainment, look no further than the public library, as card holders now have access to one of the largest online selections of quality classic cinema, independent films and educational programming available. Starting Monday, Glencoe Public Library is offering Kanopy, a streaming video service that brings artistic and educational video content direct to your devices.

The service began in 2008 as a DVD provider for universities. It has since expanded to other educational institutions and offers more than 26,000 videos. Available content classic films by pioneering directors like Kurusawa, Chaplin, Berman and Truffaut. There's also television and documentaries from the independent filmmakers and broadcasters like BBC, PBS and the Criterion Channel. Kanopy also includes a variety of educational courses, ranging from food to travel to technology.

Whether you want to enjoy some of the most critically acclaimed cinema around or learn a new skill, the library's new Kanopy service has you covered. By signing up with your library card, you'll have access to 10 videos a month, without any risk of overdue fees or waiting. You can use Kanopy online, using the app or on a streaming TV device.
