Glencoe Grand Prix Raises Thousands For Educational Foundation
Hundreds of riders raced through Glencoe Saturday in the 11th annual multi-course bicycle road race.

GLENCOE, IL — The Glencoe Grand Prix raised more than $40,000 for an educational nonprofit as about 420 racers took part in the 11th annual bicycle race last weekend, organizers told Pioneer Press. For the first time in three years, there was no rain on the day of the race, so a larger number of spectators came out to see the racers as well as to enjoy food, music and children's activities.
Glencoe Grand Prix President David Metrick told the paper this year was, by far, the smoothest-ever edition of the event, which benefited the Glencoe Educational Foundation. Glencoe resident Nate Iden finished second in one of the men's events, and 14th finisher Jenna Koval grew up in the village, according to Pioneer Press.
