Glencoe School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Glencoe is August 28 for grades 1-8 and August 31 for kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Glencoe School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 9/21: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/6: No School for Students (Teacher Institute Day)
• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)

November

• 11/9: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 11/10: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/8: School Resumes
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/16: No School for Students (Teacher Institute Day)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents’ Day)

March

• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Break)

April

• 4/2: School Resumes
• 4/27: No School for Students (Teacher Institute Day)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/5: 8th Grade Graduation
