Gibori listed himself as the center director of The House Tutoring Lounge in Glencoe, which was founded in 2019 by a family member. As of Friday, he was still pictured with the parent-free, members-only lounge's teenage clientele on the business' social media feeds.

On Wednesday, Vernon Hills police were notified by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, or DCFS, of allegations against Gibori stemming from his time teaching in Community Unit School District 21 in Buffalo Grove.

Gibori taught at Cooper Middle School and met the child he is accused of sexually assaulting there in 2017, police said.

Police were told he sexually assaulted the child on "numerous occasions" over several years. He left the job with the public school district in July 2019 before joining The House Glencoe, 682 Vernon Ave.

“We are very troubled by these allegations but applaud the courage of the victim," Vernon Hills Police Chief Patrick Kries said in a statement announcing the arrest. "Our investigators worked quickly with the Lake County State’s Attorney and the Department of Homeland Security to secure a warrant, locate and apprehend Gibori.”

Police and prosecutors obtained an arrest warrant for Gibori with a day of learning of the allegations, and an investigator with the state's attorneys' office notified Homeland Security Investigations, or HSI, agents at Dallas Fort Worth and O'Hare International Airport to take him into custody on the warrant.

Lake County State's Attorney Eric Rinehart praised the cooperation between his office, DCFS, HSI and staff and attorneys at the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center in Gurnee.

"Bringing this fleeing suspect to justice would not have happened without the incredible efforts and rapid response from our law enforcement partners," Rinehart said in the statement. “The people of Lake County are safer today because of their teamwork."

Authorities said the investigation was ongoing encouraged any parents of students of Gibori to speak to their child. Anyone wishing to share information about the investigation was askedto contact Vernon Hills detectives at 847-247-4891.
