IHSA Reveals Football Schedules: See Who New Trier Faces In Fall
The Trevians are set to begin the 2020 season on the road with an Aug. 28 showdown in La Grange.
WINNETKA, IL — As school and public health officials continue to refine coronavirus safety guidelines for youth sports, the Illinois High School Association announced this year's varsity football schedule for teams across the state.
New Trier High School is set to begin its season Aug. 28 with an away game at Lyons Township High School. Led by coach Brian Doll, the Trevians finished last season with a 4-5 record, missing out on the playoffs for the first time in recent memory.
Things are expected to look different under Friday night lights this fall, as the Illinois Department of Public Health aims to gradually lift restrictions on contact in time for high school sports at the start of the 2020-21 school year. But it's up to local school districts to determine how to implement the new safety guidelines.
