North Shore Gastropub Offers Gluten-Free Options

Wilmette’s new gastropub Nick’s Bar and Grill is offering gluten-free options among a variety of appetizers, tacos, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts, Wilmette Life reported.

The new restaurant is located in the former C.J. Arthur’s location, 1168 Wilmette Ave., and plans for the gastropub were announced last November with eight Wilmette families investing and co-owning the place.

Nick’s is named after one of the co-owners’ father-in-law, who is described as the type of guy you’d love to sit and have a beer with, the newspaper reported.

The co-owners previously told Patch that they want Nick’s to be family friendly while still making feel like a cool, hip space.

So what are some of the owners’ favorites on the menu? Try taco flights, vegetarian lasagna, kale Caesar salad and the salmon BLT, Wilmette Life reported.

C.J. Arthur's closed in the end of September 2012. Art Falzer, the former owner of C.J. Arthur's, passed away in February.
