North Shore Pace Bus Changes Take Effect

Service has been adjusted on two routes as the implementation of the first phase of Pace/CTA North Shore Coordination Plan begins.

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL — Changes to a pair of North Shore bus routes took effect Monday. The adjustments are the first phase of the implementation of a coordination plan between the Pace Suburban Bus Service and the Chicago Transit Authority.

Route 208, which travels between the Davis Street CTA Purple Line station in Evanston and Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, no longer runs on on Church Street between Dodge Avenue and Skokie Boulevard or on Skokie Boulevard between Church and Golf Road. CTA also plans to discontinue its Route 205, which currently travels along Golf Road, as it shifts service onto the adjusted Pace routes.

Pace Route 213, which travels along the Union Pacific North line from the Howard Street Red Line to the Highland Park Metra station, has begun travel down Lake Cook Road, Route 41, Central and Laurel avenues and 1st Street. Pace said the weekday and Saturday schedule for Route 41 would also change. Service will be extended to the Purple Line in Evanston, while weekday peak hours trips between the Howard CTA station and Green Bay Road at Oak Street in Wilmette will also service Green Bay Road and Chicago Avenue in Evanston, as well as Evanston Township High School via Church Street.
