Northfield Warns of String of Residential Burglaries

The daytime burglaries appear to happen after the thieves have seen the residents leave their home.

The following is from the Village of Northfield:

The Northfield Police Department is currently investigating THREE Residential Burglaries on the west side of the Village.

These burglaries occurred on the weekday and weekend. The timeframes are between the morning hours, approximately 8:00 a.m. and the evening hours, approximately 9:00 p.m.

It appears that the offender(s) watch for the resident to leave their home. Next, there will usually be numerous doorbell rings to make sure no one is home. Entry is made through any unlocked doors/windows, especially doors towards the rear of the home, or entry is forced through a door with a pry tool or brute force.

Items targeted: Jewelry, Silverware and Currency.
