Obituary: Brian Doherty, 45

Beloved husband of Anne (nee Ruppe) and loving father of Danny, Michael and Annie. Son of Pat & Jeanne Doherty and the brother of Dan (Laura) and Nancy (Dave) Detlefsen, uncle of Patrick, Maggie, Jimmy and Kevin Doherty and Erin, Evie and Cooper Detlefsen, son-in-law of Louis Ruppe, brother in law of Matt (Kellie) and John (Heather) - good pal of all.

Brian, 45, native of Northfield, IL, moved to Scottsdale 10 years ago. Graduated from Loyola Academy and Xavier University. Brian's career was in marketing/sales - 17 years with C.R. Bard. His entrepreneurial spirit prompted founding Lokai LLC, specializing in sales of medical products.

An avid sports enthusiast, Brian was an all-conference baseball player for Loyola, capped by his playing ball at Wrigley Field. Brian was a low handicap golfer, with 2 holes-in-one. With both sons playing hockey year-round, it became a favorite sport too.

Family was the centerpiece of Brian's life. His upbeat personality created friendships across the country. He will be missed. Brian was one of the good guys.

In memory of Brian, contributions may be made to the Brian Patrick Doherty Children's Memorial Fund (benefiting the kids' education) at any Wells Fargo Bank.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 7 at 9 a.m. with Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle in Northfield.
