Photographer Rebecca Willis Featured in YMCA Community Gallery

Glenview residents' work on display through the end of January.

Nature photography by Glenview resident Rebecca Willis is on display in January in the North Suburban YMCA’s Community Gallery. The public is invited to a reception to meet the artist on Saturday, January 12th from 5:30-6:30pm. The artwork is available for purchase, with a portion of proceeds supporting the Y’s Visual Arts programs.

In addition, the Y’s 3D Gallery will showcase artwork by Glenbrook South High School student Laura Schonken.

Rebecca Willis lives in Glenview with her three children and a variety of pets. She began taking photographs a few years ago, mainly focusing on portraits and child and family lifestyle photography.

“As someone who loves the outdoors, I soon discovered that nature photography fit in well with my lifestyle and was the perfect way to combine my two hobbies,” explained Willis. She loves capturing the pieces of nature that may otherwise escape notice, and photographs are the perfect reminder of a day well spent in the outdoors.

The Y’s Community Gallery showcases the work of artists living and working in the northern suburbs in monthly exhibits. For information about the Gallery and other art programs at the Y, contact Cathie Winnie, cwinnie@nsymca.org.
