Thrifting Tips from the "Queen of Rummage"
The coordinator of the Christ Church Rummage Sale, one of the largest in the country, shares her best tips for snagging a good deal.

Charlotte McGee, "Queen of Rummage" and Rummage Sale Coordinator at Christ Church, knows everything there is to know about finding a good deal — she's been working at one of the nation's largest rummage sales for 20 years. Lucky for Patch readers, she was willing to share some of her top tips.
- "Here's the key — get the map," McGee said. "Get the map and strategize. Plan your attack!" She recommends checking out the online map of the sale — as well as a list of departments — so you know what you're doing.
- "Really come early," she said. "If you work, we open at 7 — you can get an hour of power shopping in!" McGee said that people start lining up around 5 a.m.
- "We do have a bag check," McGee advised shoppers.
- "[Personally] My favorite department is accessories — I'm in to scarves and the accessories are incredible!"
This year's sale will be held Thurs., Oct. 3 from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
