Winnetka Billionaire Philanthropist Gives University $2 Million to Study Transgender Issues
Funds from the Jennifer Pritzker Foundation will establish a chair for transgender studies at a Canadian university.

The foundation of philanthropist and transgender woman Jennifer Pritzker, formerly James Pritzker, has donated $2 million to the University of Victoria in British Columbia, reported the Chicago Tribune.
Sociology professor Aaron Devor, who has a background in transgender studies, has been named the program’s inaugural chair. It is believed to be the only such research position in global academia.
The program is anticipated to bring greater awareness to transgender issues and support policy development.
