Winnetka, Glencoe 4th Of July 2019 Firework Guide, Scheduled Time

WINNETKA-GLENCOE, IL — July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. Patch has gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Winnetka and Glencoe so you can start planning now.
As of Wednesday, the National Weather Service was predicting a high of 82 to 89 degrees Thursday for the Chicago area, but just like last year — when storms turned deadly on the 4th of July — scattered storms are a possibility. The NWS is predicting a 30 percent chance of storms both Wednesday and Thursday nights — so keep an eye out for weather-related fireworks cancellations.

Glencoe
This year's 4th of July celebration in Glencoe is expanded as part of the village's sesquicentennial celebrations. The day begins with a two-mile fun run starting at 8 a.m. at the Glencoe train station. From 10 a.m. there will be games and mini golf in Kalk Park, where the 11th annual Glencoe's Got Talent takes place for for kids under 18 at noon.
The Glencoe 4th of July parade begins at 3 p.m. with a new route from Central School to Lakefront Park, where the Party in the Park begins and runs until 9 p.m. Parade applications are due June 21 and a guidebook is available online.

From 4 to 9 p.m. at Lakefront Park, there will be food trucks, inflatable games, a dunk tank and sales of beer and wine. Live music from Serendipity begins at 4 p.m. and from The Blooze Brothers at 6:30 p.m. The fireworks display begins at 9 p.m.

Winnetka
The 4th of July parade begins at 10 a.m. from the intersection of Elm Street and Glendale Avenue and heads through town to Village Green. The procession is set to feature bands, performers and more. All residents are invited to be part of the patriotic event.
"You don't need talent (although we're sure you have some) just enthusiasm," according to a message from the 2019 Winnetka Fourth of July Committee. Parade entry forms are due June 19.
The event is followed by a flag-raising ceremony, a flag parade, family races and other events at the Village Green starting at 11 a.m.
Fourthfest begins at 6 p.m. at Duke Childs Field, 1321 Willow Road, Bring a meal or purchase food at the park while enjoying games, entertainment, music, food, face-painting, balloon artists, moon walks and a giant slide. The Ravines will play a show from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the Jesse White Tumblers are set to perform at 8 p.m.
Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:20 p.m. This year marks the village's 141st Fourth of July celebration in the 150th year since its founding.
