Winnetka, Glencoe 4th Of July Fireworks 2021 Canceled
While lakefront fireworks shows have been postponed, Independence Day parades and other festivities are going ahead in Winnetka and Glencoe.
WINNETKA-GLENCOE, IL — Though coronavirus cases continue to drop across the country and the number of those who are fully vaccinated continues to rise, many Independence Day celebrations have once again been canceled, modified or shifted to a remote format due to the pandemic.
In both Winnetka and Glencoe, village officials have cancelled Independence Day traditional lakefront fireworks celebrations for the second year in a row. Both communities plan to hold fireworks in early September to coincide with Labor Day weekend instead.
Parades in Winnetka and Glencoe are still going ahead.
