Winnetka Police Make 2 DUI Arrests

A village sign and barricade were also stolen.

The following information is from the Winnetka Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Bike theft

Someone stole a men’s red and silver Specialized bike worth $600 from the front yard of a home in the 300 block of Glendale Ave. between 4:30 and 6 p.m. Sept. 8.

Retail theft

Elaine G. Stegmyer, 30, of the 4400 block of Damen Ave. in Chicago, was arrested for felony retail theft Sept. 9 in connection to an incident that occurred Aug. 23. Her court date was Sept. 10.

DUI

Jennifer S. Rodi, 43, of the 600 block of Park Ave. in Wilmette, was arrested at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 12 in the 400 block of Provident Ave. for driving under the influence of alcohol. She was also cited for improper lane usage and block an intersection. Her court date is Oct. 16.

Michael D. Finzer, 22, of the 1400 block of Kaywood Lane in Glenview, was arrested at 11 p.m. Sept. 13 at Cherry and Linden streets for driving under the influence of alcohol. He was also cited for disobeying a stop sign. His court date is Oct. 8.

Fraud

A resident reported Sept. 12 that someone called his home and pretended to be from the IRS and asked for personal identifying information. No loss was reported.

Sign and barricade stolen

Someone stole a Village of Winnetka barricade and sign from the corner of Gordon Terrace and Tower Road between Aug. 21 and Sept. 8. Loss is estimated at $200.
