Winnetka School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Winnetka is August 29. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. Winnetka Public School District 36 has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/29: First Day of School, Half Day for Students (Teacher Institute)

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/21: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/19: Half Day for Students (Conferences)
• 10/20: No School for Students (Conference Reporting Day)

November

• 11/10: No School for Students (Teacher Institute Day)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Vacation)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Vacation)
• 1/8: Schools Reopen
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/22: No School for Students (Teacher Institute Day)

February

• 2/12 - 2/13: No School for Students (Conference Reporting Day)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Vacation)

April

• 4/2: No School for Students (Teacher Institute Day)
• 4/3: Schools Reopen

May

• 5/25: Half Day for Students (Teacher Inservice)
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/8: Anticipated Last Day of School (Grades K-7), Half Day for Students (Teacher Institute)
