Winnetka Snow Emergency Street Parking Ban Takes Effect
Parking on village streets in Winnetka and Glencoe is prohibited during snow emergencies.

WINNETKA, IL — Following Monday night's heavy snowfall, village officials declared a snow parking ban in Winnetka. Village Hall was set to be closed until noon Tuesday.
Any cars parked on village streets during snow emergencies may be towed, and refuse collection may be delayed, according to village staff.
Parking is forbidden in village-owned parking lots from midnight to 6 a.m. on either odd- or even- numbered days when at least 3 inches of snow have fallen.

According to National Weather Service snowfall reports, nearly 10 inches of snow had accumulated in Northbrook and 1.5 feet of snow had fallen since Sunday in Evanston.
In Glencoe, parking on village streets is prohibited during snow events. Village trucks may make multiple passes to ensure streets are fully plowed.

Light snow is expected to continue along the lake in the morning, shifting south and east by the afternoon. Another snow system is expected Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, forecasters predicted.
